Brewing Friendship: A Year of Coffee Connections and New Beginnings on the Cape

It’s almost the celebration of Thanksgiving and we all have a lot to be thankful for. I find myself reflecting on the past year, a chapter of my life filled with gratitude, warmth, and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Amid life's unpredictable journey, the incredible power of developing new friendships and coffee connections has added great depth to my soul.

Since moving to the Cape, I have made it a goal to learn about the various coffee venues. I have continued my quest to meet new friends along the way making each cup part of my adventure. For some coffee is a caffeine fix but for me it has become an opportunity to connect, share stories, and create lasting memories with those met along the way.

As I shared in my book, connecting over coffee has been a way for me to embrace each new relationship. Whether it’s a simple conversation or a purposeful meeting, coffee is a way to build a rapport over shared experiences. These moments, punctuated by the clinking of mugs and sometimes laughter often create the threads that weave together the fabric of newfound friendships.

I am thankful for the many opportunities I have had this past year to get together with my existing friends and to make new ones over a coffee meet up. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook the significance of simple pleasures. A warm cup of coffee became more than a daily ritual—it became a symbol of shared moments and the glue that bonded our growing circle of friends. Gratitude filled my heart as I realized the beauty in finding joy in the seemingly mundane, all while surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Cape Cod.

To the friends who shared their favorite coffee spots, the baristas who greeted me with a smile, and the individuals who became cherished companions on this journey, thank you. Your presence has turned ordinary coffee breaks into extraordinary moments of connection and camaraderie. As Thanksgiving approaches I am truly thankful for all of my coffee connections.
